In Rec Room, viewers descend a long staircase to an immersive and cacophonous environment below. Around each corner appear sculptural tableaus in life-sized and miniature scale, assembled from found objects and enlivened with electronics. The claustrophic scene plays with associations of a typical American rec room, a windowless basement dwelling for games, recreation, and re-creation, a mixture of adult and childhood entertainments and their embedded stories. The collection of nine multimedia installations exhibited in the lower level gallery of Lambert Fine Arts in 2011 (NYC). At night, the installation was mainly lit by projection, and during the day additional light from a skylight brightened the space.
